Ronnie Jo Young Lopez, of Costa Mesa, California, passed away at home on June 5, 2017.  She was the wife of the late Humberto Lopez Estrada, and the daughter of the late Wallace and Dorothy Young.

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 26, 1948, Ronnie lived most of her life in California, growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area and spending most of her adult life in Orange County. Ronnie was brilliant and forever curious. She had a huge heart and an infectious laugh. She studied History, Law, and Education, working in various positions during her career. Her passion in recent years was special education, the field in which she most recently worked. 

She is survived by her daughter Adriana Manfredi, son-in-law Franz Manfredi, and the special lights of her life, grandsons Giovanni and Octavio Manfredi. She is also survived by sister Shelley Lovelace, and brothers Casey, Mike, Joe and David Young, as well as nieces Kimberly, Lindsay, Rachel, and Tara Young and Carrie Young Pratt, and nephews John and Jordan Young. 


A remembrance is planned at the Earl Burns Miller Japanese Garden on the campus of California State University, Long Beach on Saturday July 29, at 10:45AM.
