Floyd "Red" Charles Swanson, 93, passed away at his home in Anaheim surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. He was born on August 16, 1923 in Elgin, Illinois to Paul and Etta Swanson.

After graduating from Genoa High School in 1941, Red served in the United States Army Air Corps during the Second World War. He graduated third in his class at Non Comissioned Officer School in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1946.

When returning home to Illinois, he met the love of his life AnnaBell Voorhies. They were married on July 18, 1948. Red and Ann were happily married for 68 years. In 1960, Red and Ann moved with their daughters Victoria and Pam to California. Red worked for the United States Postal Service for thirty eight and a half years and Carl Karcher Enterprises for thirteen and a half years.

Red shared his love for God, country, and family. He was also a big fan of Frank Sinatra, Clint Eastwood, the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Lakers, and St. Louis Cardinals. In his later years, he always demonstrated his love for his grandsons through his support and encouragement of following their dreams. He was their greatest fan always cheering on his grandsons at their athletic contests and academic accomplishments.

Red Swanson is survived by his wife, AnnaBell,      sister Dolores Young, daughters Victoria Young (Steve), Pam Connolly (Mark), grandsons, Chris (Nikki), Pat, Bryan  (Alexis) and great grandson Liam Floyd
