Zella Ann Zlaket, 94, born February 16,1931 passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, in Garden Grove, California. Zella, known by her friends as ‘Bobbie’ and her grandchildren as ‘Babe’ was raised in Monte Vista, Colorado by her parents Bill and Ann Malouff. She attended Rio Grande High School where she was a cheerleader, class treasurer, president of the drama club and prom queen. Zella was awarded a scholarship to attend the University of Boulder Colorado, but at the age of 19 she met and fell in love with a young man whose car broke down outside her home. In 1950 Zella chose to head west to the “land of palm trees and sunshine” and a life with her husband George L. Zlaket. She worked alongside George in the market that he and his brother Leo owned in Garden Grove, Zlaket’s Market. In 1965 she opened ‘Bobbie’s Distinctive Children’s Wear’ next door to the market where she maintained a thriving business until she retired in 1975. Zella was a charter member and president of the Angelique Guild, the fundraising arm for Holy Family Adoption Agency. She was an active member of the St. Columban’s Parent Club. In retirement she and her husband George enjoyed years as members of the Main Place Pacers. Zella is now reunited with her husband George, her parents Anne and Bill Malouff and her siblings Joe and Rachel Malouff. She is survived by her four children, Bill, Jerome, Angela, Philip. Most importantly, she is survived by her 9 grandchildren: Joe, Jim, Anna, Tony, Marcie, Gina, Adam, Ian, and Rachel, and her 9 great-grandchildren: Michael, Max, Mia, Cody, William, Victoria, Levi, Luke, and Liam. Zella was most known for her love of life, whimsey, and her love of children.
