American Patriotic 10

William "Billy" Roberts Jr.

August 30, 1962 ~ July 5, 2022 (age 59)

Roberts, William “Billy”, age 59, long-time resident of Anaheim passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, less than a year after his cancer diagnosis. Billy was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on August 30, 1962. He’s the second child and first son of William L. Roberts and Ruth A. Bennett, who precede him in death. He was married to Lisa Hammock for over thirteen years, when they divorced in 2002.

He’s a brother to five siblings, Deborah Prisco, Kathrine Roberts, Tina Weindel, Will Jefferson and Lula Carter, who were all there to help comfort him in his final days. He’s an uncle to at least ten, David Weindel, Michael Weindel, James Rollins, Jasmine Sellers, Asia Martin, Everton Carter, Ashley Parker, Michael Jefferson, Sammy Jefferson and Lila Jefferson. He’s also a great-uncle to many more.

Billy worked as a driller for an environmental soil testing business and an oil company for over twenty years, before being injured. He can be described as strong, hardworking, proud American, sports fanatic, neat freak and a wild and crazy guy, just to name a few. He loved everything patriotic. His father’s US military burial flag hung proudly on his living room wall. He was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and had a large Dallas football helmet tattooed on his shoulder. He was also a very neat person and always kept everything clean and organized.

He definitely liked to have a good time and would entertain anyone willing to try and keep up with him. He worked hard and partied hard. He loved meeting new people and made friends easily. He was a big hearted guy who put everyone’s needs before his own. He was an “Ambassador” with many years of volunteer service at the VA Hospital in Long Beach. He touched more people than we realized, as the love for him keeps pouring in. The family appreciates hearing your “Billy” stories. Please bring your favorite memories of him to share.

His “Celebration of Life” service will be held at Brown Colonial Mortuary in Santa Ana on Sunday, August 28th, 2022 at 12 noon. This is a celebration of his life so please dress comfortable, like you were hanging out with him. It’s also two days before what would have been Billy’s 60th Birthday, so please join us for a reception at his sister’s home in Fullerton.
