William Earl Webb

September 20, 1934 ~ June 24, 2024 (age 89) 89 Years Old

William Webb Obituary

William was born on September 20, 1934 in Tallassee, Alabama to Hubert Webb and Ruth Dumas.  William and his siblings moved to Detroit, Michigan at a young age.

He graduated from Detroit Engineering School, then enlisted in the US Army.  He was a Korean War Veteran.

William lived on Long Island, New York where he met, fell in love and married Verdelle Ginyard.  They were married 53 years.

William accepted a job offer from McDonnell Douglas in Long Beach, California in the engineering department.  He was excited to move to the sunshine state, getting away from cold weather.  William worked at Douglas until he retired. 

William (Bill) loved sports.  He and Derrick enjoyed watching sporting events together.  They also love the daily trivial games comparing their answers in the evening.

He and his family did many road trips in their RV.  He later joined the Luckineers Camping Club and was a member for many years.  

With his love for learning.  he decided to further his education and enrolled and graduated with a BS degree from University of Southern California (USC) he also attended Dominguez Hills.

Bill is preceded in death by his parents Hubert Webb and Ruth Dumas.  One sister, Lena Jones three brothers, Warren, Howard and Alfonzo Webb and a dear nephew Kenny Jones.

He is survived by his wife Verdelle and son Derrick Webb.  A son from previous relationship Lamont Caldwell, three sisters, Mary Frances Collins, Helen Flowers and Margaret Webb.  He also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, in-laws, cousins and many friends.  

Bill was a gentleman and respected by everyone that knew him.  He was very gracious and tender hearted contributing to his TV Church ministry and many charities.  He will be missed.
