Seth Eugene Smith

 It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing on January 26, 2021 of our son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle, friend, and teammate, Seth Eugene Smith.  Born March 12, 1991, in Orange, California at St. Joseph Hospital. He is survived by his parents, Mom and Stepdad Maria Smith and Mark Bright, and Dad Gordon Smith (Darcy), “Brothers 4” Garrett Smith (Rachel), Jimmy Bright (Lauren), Ryan Bright, niece Annabelle, a bounty of aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, and his grandfather, Blayne Smith of Fallbrook, Ca. 

Seth, born with bright blue eyes, silky white hair, and that Giant Smile... never changed!  He attended Holy Family School, Mater Dei High School, Santa Ana College and Cal State University, San Marcos. He also played at Orange Little League and Collegiate Summer League Baseball.  From age 1 on, his passion for sports began, whether it was throwing a ball of any sort or watching from a sideline...which grew into being his own scorekeeper and commentator (age 4) that continued through his 29 years with a dream come true of broadcasting college sports and MLB baseball.

To this day, with a spirit about him, like a magnet, he had countless friends, teammates, and acquaintances that he held special in his heart.
Seth “Lit the room up” wherever he was. He loved his entire family more than anything in the world. A kind word, a crazy high five, a serious conversation, joking around, and that Giant Smile. He will be missed greatly by us all, “Beyond Belief.”
Funeral Services will be held February 6, 2021, at 10:00am
Christ Cathedral Outdoor Plaza, 13280 Chapman Ave, Garden Grove, California 92840 Masks required - social distancing, as well.
