Ronald Joseph Raya

Heaven just got a little rowdier – and a lot more fun.

Ronald “Ronnie” Raya passed away peacefully at the age of 55 with his family and friends by his side. He spent his final years exactly as he lived the rest: full of humor, love and a hug for everyone he met.

Born the baby of the family on April 26, 1971, at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, he quickly became the jester for all of us to enjoy.  A quick mind, sharp wit and a big heart became his calling card for everyone he met. He became a legend at Costa Mesa High School with his pranks and hijinks and was personally befriended by the principal and administration.

Ronnie loved the beach and became part of its culture. In the past, he enjoyed and participated in soccer, cycling, personal training, softball, cheering for the California Angels and especially golf. He was an exceptional athlete and seemingly could pick up any sport and excel immediately.

He was preceded into heaven by his mom Carol Raya, grandparents, several cousins and uncles, all of whom were waiting for him when he arrived. He is survived by his daughter Isabella Raya, wife Charisse Hitchcock, Father Dr. Ronald Raya and older siblings Kevin Raya and his wife Kathleen Raya, Jody Raya, Becky Raya, his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who knew him as Uncle Ron, as well as numerous friends and family members who loved him and will never forget his smile.
