Robert Reyes Fernandez

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Robert Reyes Fernandez, on June 26, 2024 at the age of 90. Robert was born on 7/9/1933 in Santa Ana, California to Ignacio and Margarita Fernandez. As one of eleven children, he spent his childhood at their home in Santa Ana, as well as working on their family ranch in Mexico. At the age of 19, Robert was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he proudly served for two years in Germany. Upon his honorable discharge as a corporal, he returned to Santa Ana where he purchased a home on Maple Street, married Lupe Licerio, and raised three children. He and Lupe remained in their home for 62 years. Robert became a Master Plasterer whose craftsmanship was sought out by many including U.C.I. and others in developing Orange County. Much of his work is still visible today. Robert will be remembered for his willingness to help his family and friends (and always showing up with M&M’s.) He loved Dodger games, fishing, periodic trips to Vegas and his incredible avocado tree. Robert is preceded in death by his wife Lupe. He is survived by his daughter Cathy (Harvey), son Robert (Barbara), & son Michael. He is also survived by his three grandchildren Laura Beth, Becky (Mike), and Kevin. He leaves three great grandchildren along with his loving siblings, nieces and nephews. We are blessed to have had so many years with him, and thankful that he is at peace. He will be greatly missed. Services will be: Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 12:30p.m. with visitation starting at 11:00a.m., at Brown Colonial Mortuary 204 W. 17th St., Santa Ana, CA. Graveside services will follow at 2:00pm at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery 7845 E. Santiago Canyon Rd., Orange, CA
