Rafael Torres Mendez, 80, of Tijuana, Mexico passed away on
April 14, 2025.
Rafael leaves behind his 3 daughters Nora, Mari & Nere and his 3 sons
Jose, Gustavo & Cesar. His 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great- grandchild.
Rafael was born October 24, 1944, in Tijuana, Mexico to Pedro and Anastasia Mendez. The oldest of 8, 6 brothers and 1 sister.He began his journey here with his tios in Los Angeles, CA where he briefly attended school. He would then spend his summers working in the fields with his godparents in Northen, CA. At the age of 16 he began his career at a laundry supply company where he became an assistant manager and continued working for the company for 48 years. He spent most of his life fluctuating between his home here and his home at Rancho Mendez. He enjoyed cropping fields while at Rancho Mendez.
Rafael was a well-respected man loved by so many. He was always willing to lend out a hand. Rafael’s love for his family was unconditional and it was reciprocated. He was adored by his family. Our family lost a remarkable father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
