Patricia Lee Mackey Prutsok passed away on Jan. 25, and our family has lost its central figure. She had complicated biliary tract cancer. Pat was the inspiration that held us together and gave us all a greater purpose. Pat was the wife of Dr. Leonard Prutsok, a Plastic Surgeon in our community.
As we knew them, Pat and Len came from West Virginia for service in the Navy during the Vietnam War. They came to San Diego in 1968, and Dr. Prutsok completed his service with the Marine Corps in Vietnam.
These high school sweethearts were married while Len was pre-med at WVU and Pat worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Buckhannon, West Virginia. Their marriage was one of true love and complete devotion for 59 years.
They had four lovely daughters and a son. Deanna, Cheryl, Paula Jo, Suzette, and Steven. They also had 8 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Patsy Mackey of Richmond, Va., is her niece and only child of her beloved brother Bill Mackey, who passed away at a young age. Pat loved her brother so much that she held him in her heart for the remainder of her life. Patsy also has 3 lovely daughters.
Pat had a fondness for sports and a love of fashion. She was an excellent dancer and possessed a sense of rhythm that allowed her to improvise a dance for almost any piece of music. As a young teen, she wanted to pursue the world of dancing.
Pat was a loving wife and mother while also possessing great character. She remained faithful to her family until her last breath. Her last wishes were filled with wisdom for her family members, each in turn.
She will be sorely missed and will remain forever in our hearts.
Funeral services will be at La Purisima Catholic Church on Feb. 27 at 11:00, located at 11712 Hewes Ave, Orange, CA 92869. A reception will immediately follow at Trinity hall. All are welcome.
