Patricia Imbriano Obituary

Patricia Ann (Adams) Imbriano, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world suddenly on November 12, 2021, at age 86.

She was born to the late Thomas and Mary Adams on September 17, 1935 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Patricia attended Cambridge High and Latin School and Elizabeth Anne Seton College.

She married the late Michael Imbriano in 1964, and they made a life together in the Boston, Massachusetts area for four years before relocating to Garden Grove, California.

She spent her entire life devoted to her faith, family and the vocation of teaching. Patricia began teaching at Saint Ann’s School in Maryland. Years later in 1966 she earned Teacher of the Year honors at Saint Mary’s School in Boston’s Historic North End.

Patricia was wonderfully devoted to her children Joseph, Michael, John and Rosemarie and her in-laws, Lisa, Christine and Sally.

She was a loving Grandmother to Lauren Marie, Katie Rose, Christopher Michael (deceased), Matt, Emily Rose, Erin Claire, Brendan Michael, Jacob, Jeremy, Carissa, Brina and an Aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her late brother Thomas Adams and is survived by her brother Peter and Susan (Bennett) Adams.

Upon her relocation to Southern California, Patricia found a home in the Saint Barbara’s parish where she active communicant, volunteered in the lunchroom and worked in the rectory. She continued her vocation at Mitchell School in Garden Grove, eventually retiring in 2012.

In her retirement, she was active within the Leisure World Seal Beach Community. She enjoyed Bingo, Bunco and time with her neighbors and friends hosting birthday luncheons and get togethers.

She was a sports and music enthusiast watching her children and grandchildren on the playing fields, auditoriums, and theatres. She enjoyed many recitals, choral performances, and games. She was loyal Concordia University Irvine Eagle softball fan. Over the years she hosted countless pizza parties and dinners and was the best team mom.

Patricia was a devoted Catholic, who lived out her faith through the sacraments and spent many hours volunteering with Christian Service at Holy Family Catholic Church in Seal Beach where she felt at home.

While circumstances made it difficult to do more of the activities she loved later in life, she was determined to find the joy and happiness in living every day to the fullest. It was that spirit and love that she spread to every person she met, and it remains a lasting legacy and lesson for all of us to follow.

She lived her life “One Day at a Time” and treated “Each Day as a Gift from the Lord.”

A vigil will be held on Monday Nov 22nd, 2021 at Holy Family Church Seal Beach from 3-5pm.

A memorial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Seal Beach on Nov 23rd at 10am.

Special thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at St. Josephs, especially Dr. Robert Parke, who provided invaluable care for many years.
