Mavis Marie Crissinger departed her loving family on April 10, 2025.
She was born in Millville, New Jersey on March 22, 1938 to Carl and Ethel Murphy.
She is survived by her sister Llona Murphy and her husband Bill Parker, as well as her children
Richard and Elizabeth Crissinger, Daniel and Irma Crissinger, David and Jane Crissinger, and
Carol and Rick Youngman.
She was a loving Grandmother to Jesse and Melinda, Olivia, Amanda, Lydia, Timothy, Toby,
Kate, Ricky, Madison and Tyler.
She was blessed with Great-Grandchildren Annaleigh, McKenna, AvaLee, Alivia, Bianca, Andrew,
and Arianna.
Mavis also dearly cherished her relationships with a large group of extended family.
Mavis was married for 31 years to Richard A Crissinger who preceded her in death in 1989.
“Ms. Mavis” worked for Our Saviour’s Children’s Center for 19 years and served as a board
member.
Mavis was a long-time resident of Orange. She loved spending time with family and friends and
was always up for an outing to see a local theatre production, attend a party or challenge
someone to a game of Scrabble. She was a faithful member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church
for more than 50 years. She loved travelling, especially cruises. She belonged to many bridge
groups and bowling leagues and ended her bowling “career” with a first-place team finish at 86
years old. She enjoyed many things in this life but her greatest love was for her family (and
babies). She had a take charge attitude, and her care and concern were always for the well-
being of her family.
Services are April 24, 2025 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 800 N Cambridge, Orange, CA
