On Thanksgiving morning, November 27, 2025 — one of her favorite holidays — Mary Anne Siemonsma (Jr.) quietly and peacefully went home to our Lord, joining the loving family and friends who preceded her in death: her parents, brother Paul Siemonsma, sister Nancy Siemonsma, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mary Anne was born on June 26, 1971, in Orange, California, to Mary Anne Siemonsma (Sr.) and Dr. Harry Siemonsma. She was the youngest of her siblings and the cherished heart of her family.
Mary Anne genuinely loved everyone she met and expressed that love through simple but profound gestures — a warm hug, a thoughtful letter of encouragement, or a phone call to someone who needed extra care and support.
She attended school in the Newport-Mesa Unified School District and later continued her education at the Archdiocese of St. Louis St. Mary’s Special School, a program dedicated to children with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
Mary Anne proudly competed in the Special Olympics, earning medals in both diving and swimming events. She carried that same determination and joy into her work at a sheltered workshop in Fountain Valley, where she was known for her reliability and precision in assembling doors efficiently and correctly. Mary Anne took great pride in her work and treasured the friendships she built there — with her job coaches, coworkers, and peers.
One of the great highlights of each year for Mary Anne was attending RAD Camp, a place that brought together all the things she loved most — music, laughter, activities, and the companionship of other campers and counselors who adored her.
Mary Anne leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and love shared with her five living siblings — Julia Wherry, Jane, Mark, David, and Michelle Siemonsma — along with many beloved nieces, nephews, her Uncle Mike, cousins, sisters- and brothers-in-law, and dear friends who will hold her forever in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Our Lady Queen of Angels in Newport Beach. The Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial services will be held later that afternoon at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange.
