Mark J. Mulkerin

On March 4, 2020, Mark Joseph Mulkerin Sr. of Santa Ana, passed peacefully in his sleep. Mark is survived by his wife Liz, children and spouses Mark and Deana, Lisa and Murph, and grandchildren Liam, Grady, Sinclair, Sinead, and Quinn. He is also survived by his sister Bridget Feeney of Quincy, MA and multitudes of nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, and ubiquitous cousins, each of whom he loved well. Born in 1940 in Galway, Ireland to Patrick and Delia Mulkerrin, he is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Mary Feeney, Patrick Mulkern, Theresa Maloney, Morgan Mulkerin, Anne Earner, Winnie Flynn, Coley Mulkern, and Philomena Flaherty.

Mark lived an amazing life teaching, coaching, and mentoring many through decades of service at Holy Family Cathedral School, Servite High School, Ball Junior High School, and Mater Dei High School.  Inspired by Notre Dame’s Lou Holtz, he knew that a team could win with only 1 point, so he focused his coaching on special team kickers. Once “retired” he created a free clinic working with kickers from around Orange County.

There is no doubt his impact is deep and wide. Everyone who spent time with him was always blessed with a story, a joke, and probably another story. He lived a full life and died well. For information on his wake and funeral services, please visit BrownColonialMortuary.net .
