Maria del Carmen Rodriguez
Maria was born on December 31, 1932, in Guantanamo, Cuba to Carmen and Ysauro Farinas and married Arnaldo Rodriguez in 1952. Maria immigrated to the United States in 1965 with her husband and her two eldest children and was instrumental in facilitating the legal migration of multiple family members to the United States.
Maria was a very strong, brave, religious, gracious, and generous woman who lit up the room whether at home, a party or at church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a witty sense of humor and will never be forgotten. Maria was an active member of the Episcopal Church and loved her family, friends, and the church congregation.
Maria worked at Security Pacific Bank and Bank of America and retired after many years of service.
Maria died at home surrounded by family and friends on May 11, 2023, due to end stage kidney disease. Maria is loved and will be greatly missed.
Maria is survived by her sisters, Yolanda, Irma (Quintin), Mirtha, and Leydi, her sister-in-law, Lourdes, her brother, Isauro “Bobby” (Barbara), her sons, Arnaldo “Arnie” and Dayton (Karen), her daughter, Leticia “Leti” (Traci), her grandsons, Brett and Drew, and many nieces and nephews.
Maria is preceded in death by her husband, Arnaldo, her parents Carmen and Ysauro, her sisters, Concepcion “Concha” and Ysabel “Isabel”, and her brother, Leonides.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the Brown Colonial Mortuary in Santa Ana, CA, 204 W 17th St, Santa Ana, CA 92706.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 5:00 pm on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Episcopal Church of the Messiah, 614 Bush St, Santa Ana, CA 92701 followed by a reception.
