Maria Luisa Mendez
With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beautiful, sweet Ama, Maria Luisa. On January 17, 2021, she passed away surrounded by her loving husband of 72 years and adoring seven daughters.
Maria Luisa was born on December 17, 1932, in Tlazazalca, Michoacán, Mexico, and immigrated to the United States in April 1956. She was a longtime resident of Old Towne Orange, California. Maria Luisa loved spending time with her family, cooking the most delicious Mexican food for everyone, and baking pies and jam from the fruit harvested from the many fruit trees on her property, including tending to her meticulous, beautiful flower garden. She dedicated her entire life to making our lives the very best.
Maria Luisa is survived by her loving husband, Fernando, her seven daughters; Abby (Tony Apodaca) of Orange, California, Lydia (Dave Bell) of San Anselmo, California, Teri (Barry Reed) of Orange, California, Leticia (John Gagliano) of Orange, California, Susie (David Fierro) of Riverside, California, Vera (Richard Van Bergh) of Coto de Caza, California, Chrissy (Ken Mount) of Orange California; her eighteen grandchildren and her fifteen great-grandchildren.
There will not be a single day that we will not think of her, and she will forever live in our hearts. We take comfort knowing that she will be our most sacred Angel always looking over us.
Ama, WE LOVE YOU FOREVER! ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS!
