At the age of 60 years old, our very Dear and Beloved Mother, Kateline Kathy Lefeau-Vaotuua (also known as “Mama Kaye”) was welcomed to The Gates of Heaven on October 27, 2023. Her death took place at Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, California. Cause of death was due to
Ventricular Fibrillation.
Mama Kaye was born on April 25, 1963 in San Diego, California to proud Samoan Native parents, Avea Tusitala Te’o (departed in 2012) and Mikaele Lefeau (departed in 2012). She has one brother Uleriko Lefeau and had two sisters Christine Marie Lefeau (departed in 1997) and Alofa Lefeau (stillbirth).
She grew up in Compton, California then moved to Santa Ana during her Senior year in High School. She graduated from Valley High School and attended a few semesters at Santa Ana Community College. She was raised Catholic, but her mother converted the whole family to Christian Seventh-Day Adventist.
Anyone who’s crossed paths with her was deeply impacted by her presence. She touched many lives with her outrageous sense of humor, loving spirit, selfless acts and of course, her unforgettable, angelic voice. She is a former member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Gospel Band “New Generation” and was a musician for the Polynesian Dance Group “Tekurio Nui.” She enjoyed cooking for her family…always made everything with ‘LOVE’ and never left anyone disappointed.
Mama Kaye was a single parent and leaves behind two daughters: Ruthie & Christina Vaotuua. Four beautiful grandchildren: Peniamina Jr., Priscilla, Cecelia, and Royal Pulalasi. As well as Son in law, Peniamina Pulalasi.
Family and Friends are welcome to join us In celebration of her Life Gathering. Funeral Service will be on Sunday, December 3, 2023. It will be held at the Brown Colonial Mortuary from 10am-2pm.
