John William Grigas

John Grigas was born on October 10, 1947 in Dearborn, MI. He enlisted in the Marines in 1969 and was immediately relocated to California. After leaving the service, he met and married Janet Benning and they settled down in Santa Ana to start a family. John worked full-time for Carrier Air Conditioning for a few years before deciding he wanted to run his own business, purchasing Dicksons Air Conditioning & Heating with his partner Jim Barnard in 1980. John was an active coach with his kids sports teams but an even more enthusiastic fan - nobody ever wondered if he was at the game, you could always hear him. Armed with his quick wit and humor, there was always a joke to share and an ability to bring humor to even the direst of situations, with his welcoming heart leading the way. John retired from full-time work in 2019 to spend more time with his granddaughters, and would still get calls from sales and servicemen for advice. John loved living in California, but always stayed true to his Michigan roots and sports teams, Go Blue! John will be deeply missed by family and friends. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 6th at 10:30am at Brown Colonial Mortuary. He is survived by his wife, Janet, his sister, Judy, his sons Jimmy and Scott (Keri), his daughters, Jodi and Lori (Neil),

his granddaughters, Hattie, Maddie, and Esme, and several nieces and nephews.
