Jasper was born 93 years ago in Macon county Missouri. He grew up in Goldsberry Missouri. Jasper graduated from Ethel High School. Following he boarded a bus to Iowa with 5 dollars from his dad to go to work at a new John Deere factory. After receiving his first paycheck he paid his father back. Jasper never paid a bill late in his life.
Jasper married Lois Newkirk on April 3 1949. They moved to Nebraska where he was learning heat and air conditioning business. The draft took him to become a U. S. Marine. Living in Whidbey Island Washington, Oceanside Ca. San Jose Ca. Santa Ana Ca. Jasper served overseas in Japan, Vietnam. He retired after 21 years. The next 34 years working at Universal building maintenance. Working as a security guard for many years. He finally retired at 76.
The most important decision jasper ever made was excepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior. Jasper and Lois attended Bethel Baptist church in Santa Ana for 40 years.
Jasper took care of Lois when Alzheimer’s took over her health. Jasper was preceded in death by his parents Guy and Eula Newkirk. Sister Alto brother Garrett Newkirk. Son in law Rocky West. Left to cherish precious memories of him are his children son Wendell and daughter in law Hao Newkirk daughter Melinda West. Grand daughter Jennifer Fullen her husband Bill. Great grandchildren Sarah and Nathan Fullen. Sisters Dorothy Welch, Linda Campell. Brother Aven Newkirk.
Jasper is walking tall again with the Lord.
