Janet Ellen Holland

Janet Holland, a cherished mother and grandmother whose boundless generosity and unwavering resilience touched countless lives, passed away on Sunday, March 12th in Daytona Beach, Florida, at the age of 75. In addition to her daughter Deanna, son-in-law Ian, and grandchildren Laura and Daniel, Janet is survived by her son Matt, son-in-law Mark, and her loving sisters Marianne, Kitty, Bridget, Laurie, and Peggy. Her family’s close-knit bond and enduring support for one another will continue to honor Janet's memory in the years to come. 

Originally from Steger, Illinois, Janet moved to Garden Grove, California, in 1963 with her parents and sisters as a teenager. Throughout her life, she maintained an unbreakable bond with her six sisters and remained deeply committed to her Catholic faith, making a lasting impact in her community. 

A trailblazer in nephrology nursing, Janet dedicated over 50 years of her life to helping patients with kidney disease. Her groundbreaking work in the field garnered recognition from prestigious institutions and associations, like the Royal College of Surgeons in London and was honored by the Vascular Access Societies of the Americas with the establishment of the "Holland Lecture." 

During her happy retirement, Janet enjoyed living at the beach in Florida with Deanna, Ian, and their affectionate dogs, delighting in the warmth and beauty of her seaside paradise.
