November 26, 1962 – November 12, 2025

James Patrick “Pat” McGee, 62, passed away on November 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and love. Pat was the kind of person who warmed every room he walked into, who made strangers feel like old friends, and who poured his heart into the people he cared about. To know him was to feel welcomed, supported, and seen.

Born on November 26, 1962, Pat built a life defined by dedication—to his family, his community, and his work. He was incredibly proud of his remarkable 34-year career with Los Angeles County, where he formed lifelong friendships and mentored countless people along the way. His leadership was always guided by compassion, humility, and doing the right thing.

Outside of work, Pat embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. He loved the outdoors—fishing, boating, and spending time in the sunshine. He found happiness in smoking meats, home-brewing beer, cheering on his favorite teams—the Denver Broncos, Angels baseball, USC football, and all things Mater Dei High School sports—and taking on home improvement projects. But nothing brought him greater pride than being “Papa” to his granddaughter, Parker June. She was his brightest light.

Pat was also deeply involved in his community through organizations such as the Elks Lodge and Pathways to Independence. He believed in helping others and often did so quietly, simply wanting to make life a little better for someone else.

Above all, Pat will be remembered as a loving husband, a devoted father, a proud grandfather, and a friend to absolutely everyone. He had a rare gift: the ability to make people feel at home, even if he had just met them. His presence made the world gentler, warmer, and undeniably better.

Pat is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Mary; his three daughters, Stefani, Morgan, and Erin; his sons-in-law; and his cherished granddaughter, Parker June. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, his love will continue to guide those who adored him.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 20th at 11:30am at Santa Clara de Asis Catholic Church, 22005 Ave de la Paz, Yorba Linda, CA.

Pat left this world far too soon, but every life he touched carries forward a piece of his generous spirit. His kindness will echo for generations.

In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to honor Pat's legacy this week by doing what Pat did best. Help a friend. Help a neighbor. Help a stranger. Chat up someone new. Share a story. Show up even when it wasn't on your agenda. Stay present to the needs of those around you. Make someone who really needs it feel special. That's how we carry him forward, by being as generous and kind as he was to all of us and everyone he met.
