Jamay Davell Wellington-Stroman passed away suddenly at his home in Orange County, California, on Saturday, January 20th, 2024. Jamay was 25 years old.
Jamay was born in Elmira, NY, on May 19, 1998, and lived there until he was 15, when he moved to Economy, PA. Ja attended Elmira High School for his first and second years and graduated from Ambridge High School. Ja excelled at academics and sports. He played baseball and football throughout high school and graduated on the honor roll. Jamay’s excellent grades earned him a full academic scholarship to Slippery Rock University, where he completed 3.5 years of college. He majored in Criminal Justice.
Ja was a great person! He was handsome, intelligent, and caring. He always took care of others before himself. Ja was good at everything he did. He made many friends and touched many people's hearts throughout his life. Everyone loved Ja! He was a joy to be around. Ja loved his family and friends and was very easy to talk to. He was respectful and was respected throughout his life. When Ja walked into the room, he naturally would grab your attention. Ja was the oldest brother, grandson, and cousin of the family. All the kids always looked up to him. They loved that he could dunk a basketball. Ja liked music, cars, clothes, and sports. He enjoyed driving his and his family’s sports cars. His favorite cars were Dodge Charger Scat Packs and Hellcats. Ja had both cars during his life. He was artistic; Ja liked creating music and photography. Ja made songs expressing events and people in his life and always took many pictures of himself, his family, friends, and cars. Ja was always up to speed on fashion and always dressed well. He was a sneakerhead and always had a fresh pair. Ja will be greatly missed!
Ja is lovingly remembered by his family:
Ja’s mother, Jennifer Rullo, had Ja at a young age. They grew up together and held a strong bond and relationship throughout his life. Jennifer always put him first and always showed up for Ja. Ja’s grandmother, Julie Wellington, aka Gram, helped raise Ja and created a great bond and relationship throughout his life. These two women were very important to Ja.
Ja’s non-biological Father, Tim Rullo, met Ja at two years old and loved Ja as his son throughout his life. Ja and Tim shared an incredible bond throughout their life and enjoyed cars together.
Ja’s sisters, Giuliana and Gabrielle, grew up with Ja. Ja always cared for and spent time with his little sisters. They grew up as very close siblings.
Our love for Ja will never die!
