Jaime Antezana Obituary

Jaime Edwin Antezana passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9th 2020 at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, CA surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Garden Grove, CA on September 11, 1983.  The son of Esperanza and Jaime R. Antezana,

Jaime graduated from Valencia High School in 2001 and went on to pursue his passion for The Culinary Arts, at The Art Institute of California.

He was employed by Claire’s at the Museum at The Long Beach Museum of Art, where he brought his passion to life for over a decade.  Jaime earned the title of Culinary Mixologist and Restaurant Manager where he was able to use intricate techniques to create innovative and masterful works.

Jaime had an unrivaled talent for impeccable hospitality, culinary cocktails and crafted a beautiful menu as chef de cuisine.  His strong work ethic and energy motivated others as he led by example receiving the respected title of Chef from his peers.

He was a lifelong fan of Michelin star chefs: Gordon Ramsey, Grant Achatz and René Redzepi.

Jaime enjoyed wonderful times with family and friends, was a total foodie who loved exploring and enjoying new dining experiences. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend.  His smile would light up the room and his joie de vivre was captivating.  He was a gentle soul with a big heart of gold.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Betty and Jaime F. Antezana; maternal grandfather, Miguel Arellano; and cousin Toñito Arellano.

Jaime is survived by his wife Sarajeva; parents Esperanza and Jaime Sr; brother Josh; nieces Rose and Isla and his dog Winston.
