Jaime Edwin Antezana passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 9th 2020 at St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach, CA surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Garden Grove, CA on September 11, 1983. The son of Esperanza and Jaime R. Antezana,
Jaime graduated from Valencia High School in 2001 and went on to pursue his passion for The Culinary Arts, at The Art Institute of California.
He was employed by Claire’s at the Museum at The Long Beach Museum of Art, where he brought his passion to life for over a decade. Jaime earned the title of Culinary Mixologist and Restaurant Manager where he was able to use intricate techniques to create innovative and masterful works.
Jaime had an unrivaled talent for impeccable hospitality, culinary cocktails and crafted a beautiful menu as chef de cuisine. His strong work ethic and energy motivated others as he led by example receiving the respected title of Chef from his peers.
He was a lifelong fan of Michelin star chefs: Gordon Ramsey, Grant Achatz and René Redzepi.
Jaime enjoyed wonderful times with family and friends, was a total foodie who loved exploring and enjoying new dining experiences. He was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His smile would light up the room and his joie de vivre was captivating. He was a gentle soul with a big heart of gold.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Betty and Jaime F. Antezana; maternal grandfather, Miguel Arellano; and cousin Toñito Arellano.
Jaime is survived by his wife Sarajeva; parents Esperanza and Jaime Sr; brother Josh; nieces Rose and Isla and his dog Winston.
The beautiful memory of his life will forever be cherished by all those who knew him.
Due to the ongoing pandemic of COVID-19, we are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of our family and friends. Based on guidance from the CDC, Brown Colonial Mortuary is providing restricted funeral services and gatherings in the chapel with a maximum capacity of 35 guests.
It is VERY IMPORTANT that we practice social distancing by keeping a six-foot distance from one another. Face masks are mandatory and should not be taken off at any moment. We ask that you refrain from any physical touching of anyone outside your immediate family household. Please keep your embraces in your hearts.
