Herminia Casas
January 25, 1926 - December 4, 2022
On December 4, 2022 Herminia “Minnie” Casas passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her
loved ones, entering eternal life at the side of the Lord. She is survived by her eight children: sons Juan
Manuel Casas (Arlene); Miguel Casas (Maria); Orlando Casas (Rose); Joe L. Casas; and daughters Blanca
Estella Jimenez; Maria Theresa Elizalde (Larry); Christina Guarnero; Enedelia Gomez (Jose). Minnie also
left a five-generation legacy of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Born on January 25, 1926 in Terlingua, Texas, Minnie eventually moved to southern California and lived
in Santa Ana for 49 years, raising a family with her husband and living a long, fulfilling life. There were
few things she enjoyed more than her cup of coffee while reading her copy of the Orange County
Register. She would take that first sip, spread her arms to heaven, and give out a great big “ahhhh”. She
loved her home and sitting on the porch saying hello to her neighbors. There were a million things that
Minnie did to make this world a better place, but the most important and memorable were the love she
had for her children and the warmth that a person felt entering her home. Her passing has left a void in
our hearts which may never be filled, but we can find solace in the love and memories that will never
leave us.
