Guadalupe Aguirre Ramirez, 78 years of age, of Placentia, CA, has transitioned to be
with our Heavenly Father on October 18, 2023.
On January 10, 1945, in Santa Ana, CA. Eloisa Fernandez and George Aguirre
welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Guadalupe Aguirre.
Lupe was born and raised in Orange County by her Mother and stepfather, John Armijo.
Being the only daughter of 5, she helped her Mother raise her younger brothers and
helped with cleaning and cooking; she would make fresh homemade tortillas every day.
Lupe worked the fields throughout Orange County with her Mother and family. Picking
Chilies' is where she met her first husband, Jose Merced Varela, and married on
October 19, 1962. They shared 5 beautiful kids: Joseph Tony, Maria Marta, Anita,
George, and Virginia.
Lupe decided to dedicate her life to being a remarkable and admirable mother. Lupe's
unconditional love for her children, family, and the friendships she held dear to her was
an immeasurable passion full of support. Her goal was to help and put smiles on those
around her.
Lupe was passionate about her arts and crafts, as you could see when you visited her.
She was always crafting, from making homemade pinatas to Crochet Barbie dolls. Lupe
loved to color various coloring books, especially her favorite character, Hello Kitty. She
loved her music, and you would often find her listening to Los Bukis, her favorite group.
As a young girl, she loved to dance, especially to the 50's and 60's era of music.
Lupe was predeceased by her Mother, Stepfather, Older brother Cpl. George Aguirre
(USMC), younger brothers Joey and Michael Armijo, and her precious middle daughter
Anita Davis Antonio.
She is survived by her younger brother, John Armijo Jr., daughters Maria and Virginia,
and sons Tony and George. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Joshua Varela,
Amanda Davis, Ambrosia Gathers, Arianna Gathers, Alexander Williams, Eduardo
Varela, Kristian Varela, Oscar Rodriguez Jr., Marissa Rodriguez, and Manuel Rodriguez.
Lupe is also survived by her daughter-in-law Ana Varela, son-in-law Oscar Rodriguez,
and her three great-granddaughters Madelyn Gonzalez, Delilah Varela, and
Ariyah Gathers. We will all miss Lupe, also known as Mama Pupe.
