Gina Carol McCarter (Cuevas), beloved wife, daughter, sister, auntie, friend and Godmother passed away peacefully at the age of 62, on the evening of June 16th, 2023 with the love and support of her family surrounding her.
Gina, born on October 5, 1960, in Santa Ana, CA, was a beautiful, spirited women who had a heart of gold. Her sheer strength and determination was always present. Through her work in the ophthalmic field as a back office technician for 19 years, many friendships were established and have always been cherished. While health challenges shortened her career, Gina continued to strive in being a dedicated and loving Nina to all of her nieces and nephews.
Gina was known for her kind and compassionate spirit, always willing to give a hand to anyone who needed it. She was generous with her time and extremely thoughtful in everything that she did. She had the ability to make anyone feel comfortable and everyone always knew they could count on her for love, comfort, friendship, and support. Gina will continue to show her inner strength and loving support towards her family and friends as she continues her journey in heaven.
Gina is survived by her husband of 34 years Paul McCarter of Huntington Beach; her mother
Grace Cortez; her sisters Valerie Ovalle and Dana Cervantes; brother Ruben Cuevas; and her loving godchildren Michael, Clarissa, Jenna and JP.
Gina’s memorial service will be held 9AM Saturday July 22, 2023 at Brown’s Colonial Mortuary 204 W 17th St. Santa Ana, CA. Immediately following, a celebration of Gina’s life will take place at Avila’s El Ranchito restaurant from 11AM to 2PM at 2201 E 1st St. Santa Ana, CA.
