Francisco "CUCO" Castañeda Obituary
Francisco “CUCO” Javier Castañeda, a Special Education teacher and life-long resident of Santa Ana, CA, passed away suddenly on September 3, 2022 at the age of 33.
Cuco is survived by his parents; his wife, Jasmin; his children, Cuquito and Penny; his brother; his sisters; his nephews; his sister-in-laws; his brother-in-laws; his in-laws and by many more that loved the unforgettable person he was.
Cuco was born on November 22, 1988 to Enrique and Maria Castañeda. He graduated from the University of CalPoly Pomona in 2015 with a degree in History, then graduated from National University in 2022 with a Master’s in Special Education. He worked for the Santa Ana Unified School District as a Special Education Teacher that everyone called “The Gentle Giant of Special Ed.” On March 3, 2016 he married Jasmin, mother of his children and love of his life. On October 21, 2016 and June 23, 2020 respectively, he welcomed his two beautiful children, who were the most important part of his life.
Cuco was a devoted father, husband, son and brother. He enjoyed watching his favorite team Las Vegas Raiders, repairing his Chevy trucks, riding his quad with his son and nephews, cooking for his family, but most of all he enjoyed loving and spending time with his family. He was the epitome of a family oriented man. He often avoided confrontation, and chose to prioritize love instead. He will be deeply be missed by his family, friends and all that knew him.
A funeral service is scheduled for 4:30-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Brown Colonial Mortuary. Followed by a mass at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2022 at Our Lady of the Pilar Church; and lastly his burial service at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery. Flowers and condolences may be offered to show Cuco who is now an Angel in the Kingdom of Heaven, how much he was loved and how deeply he will be missed.
