Daniel Castaneda, a beloved resident of Chula Vista, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, at the age of 51. Born on February 6, 1974, in Anaheim, Danny was the son of Arturo J. and Vivian J. Castaneda.
Danny was the rock of his family and a cherished role model to many. He was known for his loving, kind, and generous spirit, coupled with a wonderful sense of humor and intelligence. Above all, he deeply loved his family, especially his daughter.
He had a passion for the outdoors, often enjoying camping and fishing. His interest in aquatic life evolved from a hobby as an aquarist to a "Reefer," where he took joy in meticulously creating miniature coral reef ecosystems. Danny truly embraced life and lived it to the fullest.
Danny is survived by his loving mother, Vivian J. Castaneda; his life partner, Karen Cabañes; his cherished daughter, Leila; his grandmother, Concha Castaneda; his grandfather, Daniel Trujillo; his sisters, Christina Castaneda and Zulema Sanchez; and his brothers, Paul and Gabriel Castaneda. He was preceded in death by his father, Arturo J. Castaneda, and his grandparents, Frances Y. Trujillo and Ubaldo G. Castaneda.
