Cynthia Molitor Obituary

It is with great sadness we announce the death of our mother, Cynthia Ann Molitor, on February 10, 2022. She was born Cynthia Ann Spencer Downey on August 18, 1931 in Los Angeles, CA and was raised in Southern and Northern California, settling in Pasadena for her high school years at Mayfield High School and then completing a three year nursing program at St. Vincent’s in Los Angeles. It was while working at the Veteran’s Hospital in LA she met the love of her life, Dr. John Joseph Molitor and they were married in 1954. A large family ensued including 8 children: Nancy(Joe), Chris(Lori), John(Shanna), Danny(Connie), Susan(John), Peter, Joe (Lisa), and Kathleen(Doug), 20 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. She was an incredible indefatigable woman who poured all her energy and love into her family all her life. She loved tennis, reading, walking and traveling with her husband, sewing and knitting for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, watching movies, and classical music. For over 60 years, she was a loyal member of St. Juliana Falconieri Catholic Church in Fullerton where all her children went to school and received the Sacraments. She was predeceased in death by her husband of nearly 40 years, her son Peter, and her sister Kathy. Funeral services are to be held at St. Juliana Falconieri Wednesday, February 23 at 10:00 AM with the burial to be at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery  in Orange. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Special Olympics.
