Bonnie Chadwick Haupert, born on October 3,1942 in San Diego, California, to Hazel Christie Whitton and Charles Chadwick, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024 in Aliso Viejo, California surrounded by her loving family.
Bonnie was the beloved wife of Thomas J. Haupert and a devoted and loving mother to Pamela Haupert Sullivan, Amy Haupert, Christina Haupert, and Thomas J. Haupert II and took great pleasure in being mother-in-law to Erica Hanson Haupert. She also cherished her role as "Nana" to her six grandchildren: Tommy (14), Luke (14), Grace (12), Austin (12), Ryan (11), and Savannah (6). She is also survived by her brother Ron Whitton (Penny).
Bonnie lived a full and rich life, spending her early years in Long Beach, CA before moving to Orange, where in 1959 she met her true love, Tom, while attending Orange High School. They were married on September 19, 1964, and shared a wonderful life together, filled with love, lots of laughter, adventures, kids and pets.
In the early years of their marriage, Bonnie was a well-respected legal secretary before choosing to dedicate herself to raising her four children full-time. She created a warm and loving home, becoming the heart of her family and the glue that held them together. Bonnie was truly the matriarch, guiding her loved ones with humor, care, and unwavering support.
Bonnie had a tremendous love of holidays and a gift for making each one (large or small) full of special and unforgettable moments. Her love of tradition and family created so many memories, not only for holidays but also special birthday celebrations, vacations and laughter filled conversations during family meals and get-togethers that will be sorely missed. These traditions will definitely be carried on through the generations in her memory.
While Southern California was her home for most of her life, Bonnie’s adventurous spirit led her to explore the world. From vacations to her cherished Lake City, Colorado and Yosemite National Park, to camping trips around the Sierras and Rockies, and trips abroad to England and Italy, she embraced life to the fullest.
Bonnie will be profoundly missed by her family and friends, who will carry her spirit in their hearts forever. She was truly the center of their universe, and her legacy of love and togetherness will continue to inspire those she touched.
A celebration of Bonnie's life will be held at 10am on November 21, 2024 at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Laguna Niguel with a luncheon immediately following on Church grounds. There is a private interment the following day at Holy Sepulcher. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Yosemite Conservancy or City of Hope.
