Glady Beatriz Vasquez de Martinez Torres passed from this life on June 7 in her home in Orange, where she raised her children with her late, beloved husband David.
Bea was born in Merida, Mexico on July 29, 1942, the only daughter of Hernan and Lucrecia Vazquez. She had three brothers: Jorge and Miguel (who preceded her in death) and Marco Antonio.
Bea and David met while working at General Tire in Orange and married on May 19, 1968. They settled in the El Modena neighborhood where David was born and raised, to raise their five children.
David passed away in February of 2018 after nearly 50 years of marriage and Bea was never the same. She succumbed to advanced cancer and has rejoined her esposo in Heaven.
Bea is survived by her five children and their spouses: Betty Chavez, Jose Luis Torres (Lupe), Laura Cunningham (Matt), Gabriel Torres (Susie) and Aniela Flores (Cesar). She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and their spouses - Stephen (Heather), David (Megan), Jennifer (Brian), Danielle, Jacqueline, Ryan, Alexia, Sabrina, Kyla, Carina, Ava, Kenna, Ethan and Zachary - and her great-grandchildren Kennedy and Kaylin (and another baby girl on the way).
Bea enjoyed dancing, parties, time with family and friends, traveling with David. When some of her grandchildren were at La Purisima School, Bea could be found prepping school lunches, and later cooking meals for the priests.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
