Barbara Adele Deveau passed away peacefully on May 27th, at the age of 91. Born in New York, New York, she graduated from Adelphi University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1955. She enjoyed her college years as a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority.
After graduation she took a trip to Cuba, and upon her return she traveled cross country on a Greyhound bus to pursue and start her career as a Registered Dietitian in California at the Long Beach VA Hospital. It was during this time she met Raymond Deveau, whom she connected with at a Newman Club social event in Long Beach, and eventually married in May,1959. Barbara and Raymond resided in Westminster with their three children. Barbara spent her entire career working as a Registered Dietitian in a number of hospitals during her tenure and forged life-long friendships along the way. After nearly four decades of dedicated service as a Registered Dietitian she retired from Fountain Valley Regional Hospital.
Following her retirement, she enjoyed gardening, shopping, decorating and spending time with family and friends.
Barbara, and her husband Raymond, enjoyed sixty-five years of marriage before they both passed.
She was a dedicated mother to her three children Paul, Denise and Michelle and a loving grandmother to her four grandchildren Lauren, Austin, Connor and Tyler and great-grandchildren Olivia, Emilia, and one on the way.
She was a true friend to all who knew her and a constant force in lives of her family members. She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.
