Born Armida Ramirez on May 13, 1930 to Ramon And Natividad Ramirez.
Armida (aka Meda) was the eldest sister to Ray Ramirez, Lina Escoto and Evelyn Padilla. On August 26, 1951 she married our father Gildardo Romo Gomez.
They were married for 70 years! Together they had 5 children: Yvonne, Yvette, Yolette, Greg and Gil.
Proud grandma to 9 grandchildren and great grandma to 5 great grandchildren.
Mom was a woman who was proud of her husband, her children, the home she kept and her Catholic faith. She had a great sense of humor and her laugh was genuine. You could hear it when she was surrounded by family and friends.
Mom's love for singing and dancing helped her at a young age to get through her chores. She would turn on the radio and away she would go dancing the jitterbug while singing to the music. As a teenager, her parents would invite her to go to the local dance hall to go dancing. It was her favorite and memorable time as a teenager. Years later you might catch mom and dad dancing in the kitchen as dad hummed a tune.
Five days before she passed, she received visitors in her bedroom and greeted them with a smile. Mom passed away in the morning on the sixth day with Gil by her side. Thank you mom for all that you gave. Forever in our memories.
