Angelina Padilla Obituary

Angelina C. Padilla, 78, of Santa Ana, passed away on Sept 26, 2020 after a battle with kidney disease.

Angie was born on July 20, 1942 to Manuel and Eleanor Tafoya in Santa Ana. After graduating from Santa Ana High school, she enrolled into Santa Ana College (SAC). She was so proud of being born and raised in California.

After graduation, Angie found herself right back at Santa Ana High and worked in the Counseling Center. She loved her job there because it afforded her time to meet many different people. This job also allowed her to do what she loved the most which was to help people. She was driven by the ability to help, counsel, and advise people from different ages, races and cultures. Angie’s other passion was singing. She spent many years singing at nightclubs, school functions and family celebrations. Her smooth voice and beautiful vibrato could bring people to tears. She used her voice to try to bring people together, which it most certainly did.

In 1982, she met Moises Padilla, and they wed in1983. Moises became the stepfather of 5 boys, Ezekiel, Anthony, Manuel, Henry, and Leonard Hernandez.

After retiring from many years at Santa Ana and Valley High schools (over 35 years), Angie spent her time still being active in the community, helped caring for her Mother Eleanor and assisted in raising grandchildren Larry, Cynthia, Raylene and Jessica who she and Moises lovingly adopted.

Angie was predeceased by her mother Eleanor Tafoya and son Ezekiel Hernandez Jr. who both left huge holes in her heart. Angie is survived by her four remaining sons'; Anthony, Manuel, Henry and Leonard Hernandez; sisters Dinah Godwin, Irene Reyes, Rosie Juarez, Anne Ramos and Victoria Maldonado; brothers Jimmy and Mario Tafoya; as well as seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
