Ana Maria was born on December 29, 1942 in Zacatecas, Jerez, Mexico. Her parents were Natividad and Soledad Torres. The eldest of 5 children, she often spent a lot of her childhood going to her Tio Senor Cura's house when she wasn't working at her dad's businesses. In the 70s, she decided to come to the US in search of more opportunities than what was available to her as a young female in Mexico. Sometime in 1976, she met Joaquin Barreda, a Cuban man full of life and energy. They married in August 1976 and spent 38 years together before her husband's passing in 2014. Ana Maria had 2 children, Joaquin Jr. and Joanna. In her lifetime, she got to see her children have their own families. In addition to being survived by her 2 children, she has 6 grandchildren: Andre, Xander, Matthew, Audrey, Claire, and Thomas. She was known for being a good baker and working to support her loved ones. On November 16, 2023 she passed away and joined her husband in their eternal home. May her soul rest in peace.
