Willis Erdman Obituary

Willis Gene Erdman (Barney), age 79, of Santa Ana, California, died, Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at home with his family by his side. He was born August 14, 1939 in Britt, Iowa to Alfred E. and Clara E. Conley Erdman of Wesley, Iowa. He married JoAnn Muckey of Algona, Iowa on June 17, 1961 at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church, Anaheim, California.

Willis graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School, Wesley, Iowa where he excelled in basketball and baseball. He enjoyed fast and fancy cars. He graduated from masonry trade school at Rancho Santiago College, Santa Ana, California working many years in the trade. For 40 years he owned Masonry West, an artisan masonry business where he prided himself on working with contractors and families to achieve their dreams. He also enjoyed golf, road trips and NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, JoAnn; a daughter, Sheryl (Douglas) Kerwitz; grandson, Justin (Ana) Erdman; granddaughter, Meghan (Chris Hill) Erdman, and great granddaughter, Maggie Mae Hill; sister, Patricia (Harold) Wolfe and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Will was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Rita Jeane and Mary Lea Bowman and son, Garrett.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 29th at Christ Cathedral Parish, 12141 Lewis Street, Garden Grove at 3pm.
