Socorro (De La Riva) Esparza

Socorro “Cora” Esparza (neezz de la Riva), a resident of Anaheim, CA, died on Christmas Day at the age of 80 at Arbor Palms Assisted Living Facility.

Born in 1939 in Santa Ana, CA, she graduated from Santa Ana High School then went to college for fashion design.  After raising her children to adulthood, she joined the Santa Ana Unified School District working as an elementary school office manager until her retirement.

Socorro loved to travel, visiting Spain and China, and had a passion for reading and history.  She especially enjoyed going to the movies with family and friends.

Socorro is survived by her son, Jorge (Tracy) Esparza; daughter, Sofia Esparza (Marcelino Cortez); her sister, Ofelia Pineda, her brother, Hector (Gloria) de la Riva, and nine grandchildren.
