Robert Lee Merino

Merino, Robert L was born August 27, 1931 in Santa Ana, California to Martha and John Merino. Robert attended Santa Ana High School and Santa Ana College. A long-time resident of Tustin, CA; Robert was married to his true love Eva Merino for 63 Years. He was a 25-year veteran Santa Ana police officer who also had a lifelong passion for music. Along with enjoying family time and work responsibilities, he was a professional musician, having played in several big bands throughout the years as a lead alto saxophone musician.

Robert passed away peacefully on November 12, 2019 due to congestive heart failure.

Robert is survived by his sons, Chris (Patty) Merino, Wayne (Monica) Merino, Daryl Merino, Brother, John Merino; Sister-in-laws Dora Hartford and Dolores Martinez; five grandchildren, Michelle, Robert, Stephanie, Anthony, and Matthew; and two great grandsons, Ryder, and Evan.

He was loved by his family, friends and all who met him. Robert will be greatly missed.
