Perma Kendrick Obituary

Perma Lee Kendrick was born on June 24, 1937 to the late Frank Jones Sr. and Effie Chester Jones.

On Saturday, September 7, 2019, God saw the road was getting rough and the hills hard to climb. He gently close those loving eyes and whispered peace be thine.

She lived a very full life filled with family and friends. Upon arriving in Santa Ana, CA in 1957, she did domestic work while raising her three children. As we grew older she began work in the electronics field. She moved on to work at good Shepherd preschool where she retired after 10 years of service. She was an avid lover of arts and crafts and enjoyed quilting which she did every Thursday with a group of good friends that became like family to her.

Her passion was cooking and she achieved one of her greatest goals, along with her sisters; which was to publish a cookbook so she could share her love of cooking with everyone.

She was very proud of her service of over 60 years at Johnson Chapel AME Church. She served as a Sunday school teacher and work with the YPD. She was a class leader and church steward as well as working on several committees.
