Bridgett E. Head

1930 – 2017

Bridgett Elizabeth, 87, passed away peacefully on October 27th 2017. She was born into a large Catholic family on July 5th 1930 in Lisnacusha, Lanesboro, Co. Longford, Ireland. She travelled to the United States aboard the Queen Elizabeth Ocean Liner and arrived on our shores in 1950. After many lovely correspondences, she met and fell in love with John Thomas Head of Ohio. They married in Freeport, Long Island in 1956. The family moved to Santa Ana, California in 1973 and Bridgett and Tom enjoyed a blissful life, until the good Lord called Tom home in 2011. Bridget spent her years participating in Parish groups and as Vice President of the PTA. She was a Renaissance woman and had many roles as Mother, family chauffeur, gardener, chef, general home contractor, family nurse, teacher, mentor and friend. She guided her family with wisdom, strength, kind heartedness and love. Her love for God , her love for her husband and for her children was unparalleled. She is the loving mother of four boys; Michael, Mark, Tom, Lee and the adoring grandmother of five grandchildren; Caolan, Shelby, Shaughn, Kyrsten and Ryan. Bridgett is survived by her two loving sisters; Phyllis Gardner of New York and Bernadette Dowd of Ireland.

The Viewing and Rosary will be held on Thursday evening, November 2nd, between 5:00 – 8:00 pm, at Brown Colonial Mortuary, 204 West 17th Street, Santa Ana, CA 92706.

The Funeral Mass will held on Friday, November 3rd, at 12:10 pm. At Holy Family Cathedral, 566 South Glassell Street, Orange, CA 92866.

The Committal Service, following the Funeral Mass, will be held at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 East Santiago Canyon Road, Orange, CA 92869
