ARTHUR R. SILBAS 1963-2019
On Friday, September 27, 2019, Arthur R. Silbas, aka “Lucky,” ascended into heaven at the age of 56. He now joins his parents, Dolores and Steve Silbas and younger brother, Randy. Arthur was born on April 16, 1963 and is survived by sisters, Helen (Waldo) Silbas, Cynthia (Gary) Thompson, Monica (Albert) Silbas and Ricky (Zoila) Silbas. A lifelong bachelor and caregiver to his parents, he is also survived by a large family that included 12 nieces and nephews; Joe (Xanath) Hernandez, Sandy, Mikey, Nick, Marina, Diego, Eddie, Steven, Adriana, Sienna and Sebastian. Great-Nieces and nephew include Raquel, Ezekiel and Brandy Jo. He graduated from Santa Ana Valley High School and remained close to many of his friends.
Arthur had the most creative mind, he could sew and mend anything for anyone without ever having formal lessons. When not embroidering, he enjoyed movies, word search puzzles, reading, doing artwork and playing with his dogs. He had a knack for remembering everyone’s birthday and reminding others not to forget them. Arthur was so welcoming to visitors, made you laugh often and famously claimed to be a better cook than his mom.
Please join us in celebrating his life on Saturday, October 5, 2019, 9:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 1100 S. Center Street, Santa Ana, Ca. 92704, followed by a graveside service at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery 7845 E. Santiago Canyon Rd. Orange, CA. 92869. A memorial reception will be at Emerald Court Apartment Homes’ Clubhouse, 21141 Canada Road, Lake Forest, CA from 2-4 pm.
