Welcome to the memorial page for

Mitchell Scott Rimlinger

April 2, 2001 ~ December 29, 2017 (age 16) 16 Years Old

Mitchell Scott Rimlinger It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Mitchell Scott Rimlinger. He passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on December 29, 2017, at Children’s Hospital Orange County. Mitchell was born on April 2, 2001 in Chicago, IL, to Jean-Paul Rimlinger and Chris Conlee. He loved the performing arts, swimming, and singing in the school choir. He chose Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana for its learning environment, sense of community, and the deep connection with his Catholic faith. He was an accomplished student, a member of the National Honor Society, and president of his choir. In May 2017, in furtherance of his strong faith, he was confirmed at Our Lady Queen of Angels in Newport Beach. He loved to travel and learn about the world around him. In 2016 he was able to tour Italy with the Mater Dei Choir, singing in Assisi, the hometown of Saint Francis, his favorite saint; in the Sistine Chapel; and for Pope Francis. He was the kindest, sweetest person any of us have ever met. A friend to all, he always had a smile on his face, and was always willing to help those in need. All who knew him loved him; his unexpected death is a tragic loss for the family and the community. He touched many lives in his short time with us, and will be dearly missed. Mitchell is survived by his mother, Christine Conlee and her fiancé, Daniel Connor; his younger brother, Patrick Rimlinger; his father, Jean-Paul Rimlinger; grandparents, aunts, uncles, and countless friends. Services will be held at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic church on January 15, 2018 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a scholarship in his honor at Mater Dei, to allow choir students to further their studies, or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation-Orange County Chapter: http://www.jdrf.org/
