Manuela (Ramos) Berlier, beloved wife of James W. Berlier, deeply cherished Mother, Sister, Aunt and friend of all who had the privilege of knowing her, passed away peacefully April 21, 2017 surrounded by her family.
Born in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico and raised in El Paso, Texas, Manuela graduated Lydia Patterson High School (now Lydia Patterson Institute) in El Paso, TX in 1957. Manuela called Santa Ana home for over 47 years.
Manuela was married to James W. Berlier on November 27, 1971; they were married 45 years.
Manuela worked at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish for over 40 years in various volunteer and ministry positions. She enjoyed attending Knights of Columbus meetings with her husband and spending time with her family. Manuela had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. She was a compassionate and loving presence to all she met.
Manuela is preceded in death by her parents, Santos and Agustina Munoz Ramos; four brothers, Zacharias, Pedro, Raymundo, and Ramon Ramos; and a sister Irma Fierro.
Manuela is survived by her brother Jesus Ramos (Maria) of El Paso, Texas; husband, James of Santa Ana; son John Berlier of Terrell, TX; daughter Juliana Berlier of Santa Ana; adopted daughter, Catherine Martinez of Tulsa, OK.
